USA Formula One Grand Prix Texas
The USA Grand Prix has been held in Austin, Texas since 2012, although the United States Grand Prix has been on and off since 1908, when back then, was known as the 'American Grand Prize'.
Its the first circuit to be purpose-built in the US as an F1 facility. The track has 20 challenging corners also dramatic elevation changes of up to 40 metres. The most notable being the steep uphill run into the hairpin at turn 1, which then leads into a speedy downhill section, corners three through to six, which are very similar to the high speed bends found at Silverstone, the famous Maggotts/Beckett turns. The track is a very demanding and fast paced encounter for both driver and machine. It's visually stunning, and usually offers-up some great wheel-to-wheel fast-paced F1 action. Lewis Hamilton is the most successful race driver to date at this track, winning the very first race held here in 2012, and a series of wins in more recent seasons sees the English multiple World Champion top of the tree when in Texas. |
