McLaren MP4/19 - 2004
This is the McLaren MP4/19 Formula 1 race car that competed in the 2004 Formula One World Championship season. This particular car was driven by Kimi Raikkonen in first half of the 2004 season, Kimi's team mate that year was David Coultard.
The car was designed by Adrian Newey and packs a Mercedes-Benz V10 engine.
Unfortunately the car was not very successful due to reliability issues, so my mid-season the car needed to be replaced to stay even slightly competitive, so they introduced the MP4/19B, which first dealt with the underlining reliability issues, and it also boasted an all new aero package.
For its first race Coultard put the MP4/19B 3rd on the grid for the French GP, then it went on to win at Spa in the Belgium GP driven by Kimi Riakkonen. The team finished the season 5th in the Constructors Championship that year.
