Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton was born on 7th of January 1985. He is a British Formula One racing driver from England, a three-time Formula One World Champion, he is regarded by fellow and former drivers as one of the greatest Formula One drivers in the history of this great sport.
The story began for this astonishingly talented young man, when Lewis's father bought him a Radio-controlled car in 1991, which gave Lewis his very first taste of Motorsport and competition, Hamilton finished 2nd in the BRCA Championship the following year when he was only 6 years old. As a result, his father bought him his first Go-kart that year as a Christmas gift, and so began the racing career of probably the greatest Formula One racing driver of all time!. |

During his karting days, when he was 10 years old, in 1995, at the Autosport Awards ceremony, he approached, the then McLaren team principal, Ron Dennis, and said to him 'I'm going to race for you one one, I'm going to race for McLaren..', and less than 3 years later, McLaren and Mercedes Benz signed him up to their Young Driver Support Program.
On Lewis's rise to the top, he competed in, and won the Championships in; British Formula Renault, Formula Three Euroseries and GP2. He began his Formula One career in 2007 in his McLaren Mercedes, alongside Double World Champion Fernando Alonso. Very few drivers have entered the world of Formula One with such a bang, as Lewis did, whose sensational maiden season, in which he lost out on the World Championship, by just a single point, remains one of the most remarkable rookie campaigns in the history of F1!. He not only beat Alonso for, pole positions, Race wins and points, he was a mere one point away from clinching the drivers World Championpionship, finishing behind Ferrari's Kimi Riakonnen.

Hamilton won the World Championship the following season, 2008, in dramatic fashion, which was played out in the final race of the season in Brazil, he clinched the title ahead of Fillipe Massa, becoming the then, youngest Formula One World Champion in history. He moved from McLaren to Mercedes Benz Racing team in 2013, and the following season in 2014, he won the Drivers World Championship for the second time. He retained the title in 2015, as he became the first British driver in history to win consecutive F1 titles, and only the second British driver to win three titles after Jackie Stewart, but the first English driver to reach that milestone.
He is also the first driver in the history of Formula One to have made the podium after starting 20th place or lower on the grid, on at least 3 occasions.
Also, Lewis is the only driver in the history of the sport to have won at least one race in each season he has competed to date, with McLaren from 2007 to 2012, and with Mercedes since 2013.
